A person has been arrested and charged with sexual assault after allegedly attacking a girl by means of a park in Melbourne’s Albert Park.
The 42-year-old allegedly bodily and sexually assaulted a girl, who he approached as she sat on the embankment at Albert Park Lake about 11.15pm final evening.
The girl was capable of run from the alleged attacker, who then chased her by means of the park till she was assisted by a member of the general public.
St Kilda Police had been capable of monitor the person down, and arrested him close by. Police say the person lives in Prahran and was on bail for a unique offence.
The 42-year-old has been charged with sexual assault, sexual assault by compelling sexual touching, assault with intent to commit a sexual assault, widespread regulation assault and commit an indictable offence while on bail.
He stays in jail, and is about to look within the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court at the moment.
