A man has been charged after allegedly threatening a soccer participant with a knife throughout an argument after a match in Sydney’s south-west.

A spectator at a rugby league soccer match in Hammondville on Sunday allegedly confronted a participant on the finish of the sport, NSW Police mentioned.

9News understands it occurred at an A reserve grade match between Chester Hill and Cabramatta.

The males allegedly had an argument earlier than the 19-year-old threatened the participant with a knife.

“Other spectators and players intervened and assisted before the man fled the scene,” police mentioned.

Police went to the oval and arrested a 19-year-old man close by.

He has been charged with affray, armed with intent to commit an indictable offence and wielding a knife in public.

The man was refused bail at Liverpool Local Court immediately and can seem once more on August 21.
