A person has been charged after a lady was allegedly sexually assaulted whereas she was strolling along with her baby at a park in Melbourne‘s east.

Police stated the lady was pushing a pram at a Mitcham park final Friday afternoon when a person requested her for a photograph.

He allegedly then requested if they might take a selfie and began to kiss her.

“The woman was followed by the man before he again sexually assaulted her, kissed her and put his arms around her,” police stated in a press release.

The girl obtained away and referred to as her associate for assist.

Detective Senior Sergeant Rachele Ciavarella stated the mom was “traumatised”.

“She felt extremely unsafe. She thought it could escalate,” Ciavarella stated.

The 22-year-old man from Doncaster East handed himself in to police this afternoon and was taken to the Box Hill Police Station.

He has since been charged with two counts of sexual assault.

The man has been bailed to face court docket in August.
