The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has paved the way in which for brand-new bikes with engine displacement of lower than 200 cubic centimeters (cc) to get a three-year registration, which the company stated will profit some 2 million models.

In an announcement launched Sunday, the LTO stated Memorandum Circular JMT-2023-2395 would increase the three-year registration validity, as the present legal guidelines solely present this to bikes with not less than 201cc.

(We don’t see any issues with the roadworthiness of bikes with three years of registry as a result of these are new autos.

We in LTO consider that this can assist many drivers in registering their new bikes for them to make use of of their livelihood or work.)

Tugade stated the brand new memorandum round is in step with the company’s efforts to hurry up processes and ease the company’s transactions with the general public.

(We will proceed to check the prevailing insurance policies and laws within the company’s transactions. We are ready to implement any adjustments if wanted for the development of the system.)

Under its mandate, the LTO inspects and registers motor autos, points licenses and permits, enforces land transportation guidelines and laws, adjudicates visitors circumstances, and collects revenues for the federal government. —LBG, GMA Integrated News
