Local sporting golf equipment are hitting out at a Melbourne council’s proposal to ban deep fryers in a bid to push wholesome consuming.
The Greater Dandenong Council in Victoria‘s south-east is proposing to section out deep-fried meals, with a swap to air fryers as council amenities are upgraded.

“The deep fryer gone would be half of our revenue for the canteen,” volunteer Debby Henwood instructed Today.

“We’re famous for chips and gravy, potato cakes, dim sims and schnitzel rolls.

“Without it, we won’t have any of that, the income is halved.

Henwood mentioned it’s about offering folks with selections.

“If we don’t have a deep fryer to provide those choices of foods, the people are going to go to local fish and chip shops, McDonald’s, KFC and wherever else,” she mentioned.

“They’ll buy their food before they get here and bring it in.

“We’re not going to have any income in any respect.

“Football clubs like ourselves, we thrive on the intake of money.”
