Lehrmann case will now be ‘slugged out in the civil courts’ as retrial abandoned

The Australian’s Legal Affairs Contributor Chris Merritt says the abandonment of the Bruce Lehrmann trial means the case is not going to be resolved however “slugged out in the civil courts”, as each Mr Lehrmann and Brittany Higgins suggest to relitigate.

“It should’ve been resolved in the criminal justice system of the ACT,” he advised Sky News host Andrew Bolt.

“Ms Higgins will be suing the government effectively.”
