Julian Leeser and Liberal Party ‘playing political games with Indigenous lives again’

Shadow Attorney General Julian Leeser and the Liberal Party are “playing political games” with Indigenous lives once more, in line with Indigenous Voice referendum working group member Thomas Mayo.

Mr Mayo’s remarks come after Mr Leeser, in Question Time on Monday, questioned whether or not the Reserve Bank would want to seek the advice of with the Voice earlier than making a choice on rates of interest as a result of it’s “part of the executive government”.

“I mean, there is a litany of failed policy and harmful laws, discrimination that ultimately leads to the great problems that we have in our communities today,” Mr Mayo advised Sky News Australia.

“And to listen to a person who is both a lawyer and a politician asking such a ridiculous question, clearly playing politics with what is direly needed … is extremely disappointing.”

Mr Mayo stated finally, the Liberal Party is making an attempt to “damage” the Voice marketing campaign and “play politics” with it quite than “get on with what is important” to Australia.
