The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) on Sunday mentioned it has positioned Benguet and 25 different areas underneath Alert Level 2 from April 15 to 30, 2023 as a part of the COVID-19 response.
The areas underneath Alert Level 2 are:
- Benguet;
- Ifugao;
- Quezon Province;
- Palawan;
- Camarines Norte;
- Masbate;
- Antique;
- Negros Occidental;
- Bohol;
- Cebu Province;
- Negros Oriental;
- Leyte;
- Western Samar;
- Lanao del Norte;
- Davao de Oro;
- Davao del Norte;
- Davao del Sur;
- Davao Occidental;
- North Cotabato;
- Sarangani;
- Sultan Kudarat;
- Dinagat Islands;

In a press release afterward Sunday, nonetheless, the Department of Health—which leads the IATF—clarified that the alert stage for these 26 provinces and cities weren’t escalated from Alert Level 1.
“[R]ather, these have maintained their Alert Level 2 status since June 2022,” the DOH mentioned.
“While these areas have reached low risk classifications for cases and utilization rates, these have vaccination rates lower than 70% of the target total and population and/or 70% of the total A2 population (senior citizens). Meeting these targets will allow these areas to be de-escalated to Alert Level 1.
“Also, no province or metropolis has been escalated to Alert Level 2 from Alert Level 1 since January 2023,” it added.
Under Alert Level 2, sure institutions and actions are allowed at 50% capability indoors for totally vaccinated adults (and minors, even when unvaccinated), and 70% capability outdoor.

Under Alert Level 1—the bottom within the alert stage system—intrazonal and interzonal journey shall be allowed with out regard to age and comorbidities.
All institutions, individuals, or actions, are allowed to function, work, or be undertaken at full on-site or venue/seating capability offered it’s in keeping with minimal public well being requirements.
