After successful $40 million on Lotto a Queensland man has fulfilled his dream of proudly owning a racehorse.
Now he stands to win much more cash.
Former incapacity employee Cliff Little, from Cairns, scooped a $40m powerball jackpot 4 years in the past.
Now a horse he purchased along with his winnings is about to run a prestigious race with a $1m prize.
Cifrado will run the JJ Atkins at Brisbane’s Eagle Farm Racecourse.
While Little has had loads of winners, Cifrado is his delight and pleasure.
The colt price $320,000 in keeping with ANZ Bloodstock News.
It was purchased by Towoomba coach after Rex Lipp after Little gave him a clean cheque following his lotto win.
The two-year-old has gained nearly $900,000.
Little mentioned he did not imagine it when he scooped the jackpot.
“When I saw them (the numbers) come up, 1, 2 ,3, 12, 30, I said ‘oh! I’m getting more than my money back’.
“They rang up and I said ‘who the hell are you?’ He was from lotto and I said ‘yeah, right.
“He confirmed it and I mentioned; “oh, I can’t go back to sleep.”
He resigned from his job the following day and went on to purchase properties for his youngsters and a sports activities automobile for himself, in addition to stepping into horse racing.
He mentioned successful races is best than successful the lottery.
“People might scoff at this, but the money is great – but it’s only of secondary importance when you see the cups,” he mentioned.
“Lotto’s a game of chance, winning a group one with the trainer training a horse, getting a jockey primed, that’s the excitement.”
