A gaggle of voters from Rep George Santos’s district in Long Island, New York, protested outdoors the Capitol in Washington, DC, on Tuesday, February 7, to name on the freshman Republican congressman to resign. Santos was revealed to have fabricated a number of elements of his skilled and private life whereas operating his election marketing campaign. Facing calls to step down, Santos refused, reviews stated. The protest passed off as CNN reported that House Speaker Kevin McCarthy had confirmed Santos was going through an investigation from the House Ethics Committee. According to a Newsday/Siena College ballot printed on January 31, 78 p.c of voters in New York’s third Congressional District thought Santos ought to resign, together with 71 p.c of Republicans.
