Fisherman vanishes amid croc attack fears

The seek for a person who authorities worry might have been taken by a crocodile has recommenced, after he was reported lacking on Saturday night.

The fisherman was tenting on the Kennedy Bend on Kennedy River at Rinyirru (Lakefield) National Park in distant Far North Queensland.

The Courier Mail studies authorities have been notified of the person’s disappearance after campers “heard a loud scream and a commotion near the water”.

Queensland police stated the search recommenced on Sunday morning first mild, with help from the state authorities’s Department of Environment and Science.

According to the outline of the campsite, the federal government web site warns “large crocodiles are frequently” seen within the space.

The Department says each estuarine and freshwater crocodiles can “inhabit the rivers, creeks swamps, wetlands, waterholes and along beaches” of the nationwide park.
