The Boeing 737 Airliner had been combating fires within the space when the airplane went down about 4.15pm (7.15pm AEDT), the Western Australian Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES) confirmed on Monday night.
Two individuals on board the airplane managed to flee.
A helicopter airlifted them to Ravensthorpe Airport earlier than they had been taken to an area medical facility.
The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) stated it “detected an emergency beacon activation from the firebomber” roughly 185 kilometres west of Esperance.
“There were no other crew aboard the firebomber when it crashed,” AMSA stated in a press release issued on Monday night.
