A former district collector of the Bureau of Customs and a former advisor of the Philippine Airlines have been arrested for alleged extortion.
According to John Consulta’s report on “Saksi”, Atty. Juan Tan and Benjamin Sebastian have been nabbed in an entrapment operation in Manila. Authorities recovered from them P11 million.
The complainant stated the 2 requested for cash in change for the hitch-free processing in customs of the entry of aviation gasoline.
The suspects, who’re dealing with a criticism of theft extortion, denied the allegations towards them.
In a press release, PAL stated it was already coordinating with the National Bureau of Investigation as regards a former advisor concerned in an extortion try.
PAL needed to clarify that it didn’t discover any suspicious fee made to the previous advisor. —NB, GMA Integrated News
