Evacuated residents close to Tara, in Queensland’s Western Downs, have been advised it’s not protected to return as a bushfire rages within the space.
Tara residents had been advised to arrange to depart about 3.30pm Saturday because the blaze, burning close to Winfield Rd, was upgraded to a watch and act.
Authorities had been watching it because it broke out earlier within the afternoon, issuing an recommendation.
An emergency warning was issued simply after 5pm, with residents between Mary Rd, Bennett School Rd, Orchid Rd, Tomalou Ln, and Robbos Rd urged to “leave immediately,” as it might quickly be “too dangerous to drive.”
It was downgraded again to a watch and act about 6.20pm, however residents who had fled had been warned they couldn’t return house.
