Joe Biden’s cancellation of his journey to Australia and the Pacific is “embarrassing for everyone” as Papua New Guinea even declared a public vacation for the day the US President was because of go to, says Saturday Herald Sun columnist Steve Price.
“It’s embarrassing for Biden and for our Prime Minister,” Mr Price instructed Sky News Australia host Sharri Markson.
“When you think about, you know, Marine One, the helicopter that he was going to use to get between … Sydney and Canberra to address both Houses of Parliament – that’s here already.
“The Opera House as I understand has been shut down for about two weeks because of security.
“You’ve got to feel for the poor old Papua New Guineans – I mean their prime minister’s declared a public holiday for the day Biden was due there.
“You just wonder how this reflects on the importance or not of this quad group.”
