A cashier has been convicted for 55 counts of violating the Terrorism Financing Prevention and Suppression Act of 2012, the Department of Justice introduced on Monday.

In an announcement, the DOJ mentioned Angeline Magdua was convicted on March 16 of being an adjunct to the crime of terrorist financing.

Magdua is one in all two cashiers of the Rural Missionaries of the Philippines within the Northern Mindanao Region.

The DOJ mentioned the group obtained donations to finance the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army.

The CPP-NPA, the DOJ mentioned, has been designated as a terrorist group by the US Department of State, the European Union, New Zealand, and the Philippines.

The DOJ mentioned gave credit score to the prosecutors who dealt with the case, the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency, the NICA workplace in Region 10, the PNP in Region 10, and the Anti-Money Laundering Council.
