More than a thousand further circumstances of varied Omicron subvariants have been detected within the Philippines by late June, based on Department of Health (DOH) knowledge.
Based on the DOH’s newest COVID-19 biosurveillance report, 1,382 recent circumstances of Omicron subvariants have been discovered within the samples sequenced by the Baguio General Hospital Medical Center and the University of the Philippines-Philippine Genome Center Visayas from June 26 to June 29.

Included below this subvariant have been 139 XBB.1.5 circumstances; 217 XBB.1.16 circumstances; 366 XBB.1.9.1 circumstances; 60 XBB.1.9.2 circumstances; 326 XBB.2.3 circumstances; and 143 different XBB sublineages.
There have been additionally 46 BA.2.3.20 circumstances; 35 BA.5 circumstances; six XBC circumstances, three BA.2.75 circumstances; one BA.4 case; and 40 different circumstances of Omicron sublineages.
The variants XBB.1.5 and XBB.1.16 are VOIs additionally recognized by the WHO, whereas XBB, XBB.1.9.1, XBB.1.9.2, XBB.2.3, and BA.2.75 are thought of VUMs.
The DOH mentioned all detected XBB subvariants have been native circumstances from all areas besides Region 6, whereas BA.2.3.20 circumstances have been from Regions 1, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, 5, 7, 11, 12, CAR, Caraga, and NCR.
