The Department of National Defense (DND) on Friday reaffirmed its curiosity in additional strengthening protection and navy relations with Israel.
This was after Israel’s Ambassador to the Philippines Ilan Fluss paid a courtesy name on Secretary of National Defense Gilberto Teodoro Jr.
Teodoro was looking for to strengthen protection and navy relations with Israel, significantly in data sharing and schooling and coaching exchanges.
Ambassador Fluss expressed confidence within the collaboration as he indicated Israel’s curiosity in exploring potential areas of cooperation, significantly in house and know-how, search and rescue, humanitarian help and catastrophe aid (HADR), and cyber safety, amongst others.
“Secretary Teodoro welcomed the proposal, which supports the Philippines’ capacity-building efforts and capability to address defense and security issues,” the DND stated.
“In broadening Philippines-Israel logistics and defense procurement cooperation, Secretary Teodoro also raised the possibility of a joint venture between both countries’ defense industries in support of the Philippines’ Self-Reliant Defense Posture,” it added. — DVM, GMA Integrated News
