Police are looking for two males suspected of hitting and injuring a bike owner in Melbourne’s south-west.
Police consider an unregistered scooter collided with the bike owner on the Laverton Creek Trail close to Victoria Street about 6.30pm yesterday in Altona Meadows.
The 51-year-old bike owner was flung into the bushes by the affect and located by passersby, who notified police.
Witness Belinda Formosa stated the sufferer was “bleeding all over the footpath”.
“His bone, or leg was quite broken,” she advised 9News.
“I just made sure everything was okay and that another guy had covered him in a blanket.
“It’s fairly terrible simply to depart him there like that.”
The unregistered scooter, a helmet and chain were found at the scene after the two men allegedly left on foot.
The men were last seen running northbound towards Victoria Street after what police described as a “hit-run collision”.
“Definitely no motorbikes ought to be on that path,” Senior Constable Jared Grech said.
“We are conscious it has been a difficulty within the space and it’s undoubtedly regarding. The security threat it poses to the group.”
Police have released images of items left behind which include a silver SYM brand scooter, a red and black helmet and a silver metal chain necklace.
