Queenslanders are backing a petition to vary youth bail legal guidelines as crowds collect at a vigil for Emma Lovell, who was allegedly stabbed to dying by two youngsters on Boxing Day.

The vigil for Lovell was held at Wellington Point close to Brisbane this morning, in addition to stroll of honour for victims to King Island.

Attendees had been pushing for “Emma’s Law” to be enacted by means of a petition, which has 100,000 signatures.

Field’s mum Anne and her good friend Julie West, who began the petition, attended the protest and vigil.

“Anne is the grandmother of Miles that she never got to hold,” West advised Today.

“Her son was killed by a youth offender that was… on bail.”

West is pushing for Queenslanders to assist her trigger.
