The Commission on Appointments (CA) committee on labor, social welfare, and migrant staff on Tuesday endorsed the affirmation of Rex Gatchalian’s nomination as Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) secretary.
This after the CA panel accredited Camarines Sur Rep. Luis Raymund Villafuerte’s movement to deliver Gatchalian’s appointment to the CA plenary.
Being a former member of the House of Representatives, the contingents from the Lower House expressed full help for Gatchalian’s appointment.
While the Senate members requested questions on his plans for the division and the circumstances filed towards him with the Office of the Ombudsman, Gatchalian acquired the help of Senators Cynthia Villar, Risa Hontiveros, Imee Marcos, JV Ejercito, Grace Poe, and Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
