Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. on Wednesday scored the approval of a Commission on Appointments (CA) panel.
Prior to his appointment, Solidum served as a DOST Undersecretary for Disaster Risk Reduction-Climate Change Adaptation (DRR-CCA), and Undersecretary for Scientific and Technical Services.
Solidum graduated with a Bachelor of Science diploma in Geology from the University of the Philippines, completed a Masters diploma in Geological Sciences from the University of Illinois, and a Ph.D in Earth Sciences from the Scripps Institution of Oceanography from the University of California.
Solidum in August mentioned his management will concentrate on job creation, analysis and growth, meals safety and resiliency, well being, and human useful resource growth.
“Together with my colleagues, we will push with the socioeconomic agenda of the President so that the mission of DOST to provide maximum economic and social benefit to the Filipinos will be realized,” he instructed the CA Committee on Science on Technology on Wednesday. —KBK, GMA Integrated News
