Four Filipinos who introduced themselves as vacationers headed for Thailand had been intercepted by the Bureau of Immigration on the Clark International Airport.

According to Sam Nielsen’s Sunday dzBB report, the victims, two of whom had been cousins, had been allegedly recruited to work as non-voice gross sales representatives for a name middle in Koh Kong, Cambodia with a month-to-month wage of $800, free meals, and lodging.

The recruiters ordered the vacationers to pose as vacationers sure for Thailand to evade authorities.

BI Commissioner Norman Tansingco stated that the current spike in such instances, during which tech-savvy Filipinos have been recruited for potential rip-off hubs, has been worrying.
