ALP national conference had a quid pro quo to ‘double down’ on objection to nuclear power

The Australian’s Lead Writer Graham Lloyd says the ALP nationwide convention had a quid professional quo for the political occasion to “double down” on its objection to nuclear energy sooner or later.

“It’s been a really good demonstration of the difference between a protest party and having the responsibility government,” he advised Sky News Austraila.

“That’s being reflected in the way a number of contentious issues were held off the agenda and the AUKUS deal was put through.

“There were some sort of quid pro quos there, one of them was to double down on an objection to nuclear power in the future.”
