A ‘contrite’ NT Labor accepts reforms they ‘laughed out of the house’ last year

A “more contrite” Labor bench has accepted intervention-era alcohol bans within the Northern Territory just like laws they “laughed out of the house” solely final 12 months, says Sky News Darwin Bureau Chief Matt Cunningham.

“The Chief Minister and Attorney General had repeatedly said this was race-based policy and they wanted no part in it until the federal government intervened, following the Prime Minister’s visit to Alice Springs,” Mr Cunningham mentioned.

“We are expecting that legislation … will return and be enacted by the end of this week.”
