Winwyn Marquez opened up about being in comparison with her mother, Alma Moreno.

On “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Wednesday, Winwyn admitted that coping with the fixed comparisons along with her mom was troublesome.

“Oh my God, it was so hard. Feeling ko dun nag-start ‘yung insecurity ko with how I look kasi syempre, ang ganda-ganda ng nanay ko. We all — I agree with that,” mentioned Winwyn.

“My mom is really different, pero laging, ‘Ba’t ‘di mo kamukha ng nanay mo? Bakit hindi ka mestiza?'” She continued.

Winwyn added that among the issues folks would say had been, “‘You don’t look like your mom. You’re not pretty enough. You’re not tall. Iba ‘yung itsura mo.'”

“Lagi kasama ‘yung itsura ng mom ko in the context of my mother,” she mentioned.

“Syempre, I doubted myself growing up e, pero I’m just so proud of my mom,” she added.

“I’m proud that people see her as this parang ethereal woman — diyosa,” she mentioned.

“Even if I don’t look like her, I’m proud na nanay ko siya,” she added.

Winwyn additionally talked about that she’s had conversations along with her mother about it.

“Syempre sasabihin niya sa ‘kin, ‘Anak, kamukha kita,'” mentioned Winwyn.

Winwyn concluded, “I love who I am. I know who I am. And if you’re confident kung sino ka talaga, ‘di ka na ma-insecure.”
