Police have revealed schoolchildren who have been rushed to hospital after consuming lollies on a faculty bus in Far North Queensland weren’t uncovered to a poisonous substance as initially believed.

Police launched an investigation after 15 major college kids from Bluewater State School ate lollies from sealed packets handed round on a faculty bus on Thursday.

Queensland Police Service confirmed on Friday investigations have uncovered no proof that the youngsters concerned have been uncovered to a poisonous substance.

“There is no indication a criminal offence has occurred,” police acknowledged.

The Townsville Bulletin reported a few of the kids may need eaten too many sweets and began to complain of abdomen aches, and others adopted go well with.

All college students have since been discharged from hospital.

Meanwhile, bus firm Kinetic stood down the bus driver whereas a police investigation is underway.

“Kinetic is supporting local police with the investigation of an alleged incident which occurred in Townsville (on Thursday) and the bus driver has been stood down,” an announcement from the corporate mentioned.

“We take the safety and welfare of all passengers, in particular children and young people, seriously.”

Paramedics have been known as to Bluewater State School in Far North Queensland at 10.10am on Thursday following studies a number of kids have been affected by minor sickness signs.

Bluewater State School introduced on Thursday the college was taking acceptable measures following the well being scare.

“Bluewater State School holds the safety of students and staff as its highest priority,” the college wrote on its Facebook web page.

“School staff acted quickly to attend to the students while the Queensland Ambulance Service and parents were contacted.”
