A runner who suffered a medical episode on the Gold Coast marathon course has reportedly died after being rushed to hospital in a vital situation.

Emergency providers rushed to the favored race circuit about 9.45am on Sunday after reviews two male runners had suffered a “medical incident”.

The pair – who’re believed to be of their 20s and 50s – had been rushed to Gold Coast University Hospital and positioned in intensive care.

The Courier Mail reported one of many two males – believed to be a French nationwide – had died in hospital on Monday, having collapsed inside metres of the end line.

In an announcement, Events Management Queensland thanked the on-course medical workforce for the “swift provision of critical care”.
