A South Australian man died of the uncommon meningococcal illness after he was rushed to hospital in Adelaide this week.

Luke Wingfield, 36, awakened on Tuesday morning with a fever earlier than he was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital, the place he died on Wednesday night time.
