Child, 2, dies after childcare centre incident

An investigation is below manner after a two-year-old lady died two days after she was rushed to hospital following an incident at a rural childcare centre.

NT Police at the moment are investigating the toddler’s loss of life after she was taken in a vital situation by St John NT to the Royal Darwin Hospital on Thursday.

Paramedics had been reportedly referred to as to the childcare centre in Humpty Doo, roughly 40km north of Darwin, when the lady had a medical episode.

It’s understood she died in hospital on Saturday.

In a press release obtained by the NT News, Humpty Doo Community and Child Care Centre Inc reassured mother and father different youngsters weren’t in danger.

“We can assure families there is no identifiable risk to any children in the service,” it mentioned on Thursday.

“We want to reassure families that the safety of their children is always our highest priority.

“Our hearts are heavy and our thoughts are with the family and friends at this time.

“We are still limited in what can be shared and appreciate the stress and worry this may cause.”
