‘The ultimate date movie’: Matthew Vaughn hopes that couples enjoy Argylle together

Matthew Vaughn needs ‘Argylle’ to be the “ultimate date movie”.

The 52-year-old director has helmed the upcoming spy comedy movie – which includes a forged together with Henry Cavill, Bryce Dallas Howard and Dua Lipa – and revealed that he toned down the violence within the image so {couples} can watch it collectively.

Matthew informed Total Film journal: “I wanted to make the ultimate date movie. It’ll be out just before Valentine’s Day.

“When we test-screened it… I do not know if that is an insult or a praise, however one of many nameless issues went, ‘This is the primary Matthew Vaughn film I really feel comfy sharing with my spouse.'”

The ‘Layer Cake’ filmmaker recalled how he had an enjoyable date watching a movie after being advised to take a girl to the cinema.

Matthew said: “I went to see ‘Romancing the Stone’ on a date. I used to be very younger and inexperienced, and I did not know what to do. And any person stated, ‘Always go on a date to the cinema, as a result of then you do not have to speak.’

“I went in thinking I would be bored out of mind, and I’d pretend to like it, and then I’d have something to talk about. And I loved it more than her.

“So I had a film that we each loved, and I bought my first kiss. It was a bloody good night time.”

The movie follows spy novelist Elly Conway (Howard) as she gets drawn into the world of real-life espionage and Vaughn hopes that it provides a “ray of sunshine” in tough occasions.

He stated: “Right now, everybody wants a heat hug, and we have to really feel completely satisfied. I’m hoping that individuals will come out and simply respect that ‘Argylle’ is heat. It’s a ray of sunshine in a really darkish world.”
