Justin McKeone has responded to Olivia Molly Rogers’ feedback about their marriage breakdown 4 months after they break up.

The former Miss Universe Australia confirmed in an Instagram story final October that “after four and a half years together, Justin and I have come to the difficult decision to separate as a couple”.

The news – simply eight months after the couple’s lavish wedding ceremony on Victoria’s Bellarine Peninsula – got here as a shock to Rogers’ hundreds of followers.

She instructed the Life Uncut podcast, hosted by Bachelor stars Laura Byrne and Brittany Hockley, that she and McKeone broke up as a result of he made her “miserable”.

Rogers added in her chat on the Life Uncut podcast that she had actual doubts about marrying McKeone.

“It felt like I had too much to lose,” she stated.

“It felt like too much to pull away from if I was to change my mind or cancel the day.”

In the top, she determined to separate with him as a result of she “didn’t have anything left to give”.

“When it’s a healthy relationship you can work on it as a team. But when the same things keep coming up over and over and over again you’re flogging a dead horse,” she stated.

In a latest interview with Mamamia’s Fill My Cup podcast, Rogers admitted to host Allira Potter that she hasn’t “been that good at choosing partners”.

“It’s funny, I feel like I’ve always been quite good at choosing friends,” Rogers stated.

“I just haven’t been that good at choosing partners. We’re working on that.”

Rogers stated she’d “definitely” been placing herself on the market extra since her break-up from McKeone.

“You can get so comfortable in certain situations – whether that is a relationship with a partner or with certain friends that you’ve had for years – but they might not actually be serving you,” she stated.

“I think it is important to always re-evaluate your relationships and see if they are bringing what you need. And if they’re not, then end it. I think there’s no shame in getting out of something that isn’t serving you anymore.”

While she hasn’t shared a lot of what led to the break up, Rogers has been open in interviews and on her personal social media concerning the steps she’s taken to heal.

“It’s a tricky thing to navigate because, obviously, there are two people in a relationship,” Rogers instructed Potter.

“Like, I’m such an open person and I want to share more, but I do also need to set boundaries and protect my ex in a way, I suppose.”

Having just lately offered the couple’s dwelling, celebrated her first Christmas and moved into her personal residence, Rogers stated it had been “a bit scary” to “put myself out there a bit more”.

“You have to renavigate the world on your own and figure things out moving forward.”
