Smash Mouth slammed for ‘classless’ post after lead singer’s death

Smash Mouth has taken to social media with a weird put up after its founder and former lead singer Steve Harwell died earlier this week.

Harwell’s demise aged 56 was confirmed in an announcement on Monday, and adopted earlier reviews he had been in in poor health well being.

The US rock band he based in 1994 took to X, previously Twitter, on Thursday with a put up unrelated to Harwell, which has brought about controversy amongst followers.

Smash Mouth’s official web page re-shared bikini pictures posted by Kim Kardashian, which the truth star had captioned, “All that glitters is gold.”

In its caption, Smash Mouth wrote, “Only shooting stars” – referencing the lyrics to their largest hit, All Star, which was popularised within the 2001 film Shrek.

The band did put up a prolonged tribute to Harwell after news of his demise hit headlines, however their resolution to swiftly comply with it up with a “Kardashian thirst trap” has sparked backlash on social media.
