The guitarist of Australian metalcore band Polaris, Ryan Siew, has died aged 26.
The Sydney band was left shocked and heartbroken after they confirmed his demise through social media this week.
Siew’s bandmates revealed in a heartbreaking Instagram put up that he had died on Monday, June 19.
“It is with shattered hearts and the deepest sorrow that we tell you our dear brother and bandmate Ryan Siew passed away on the morning of Monday, June 19,” the put up stated.
“He was 26 years old, and for 10 incredible years, he was our best friend and artistic soulmate.
“Those years will never be enough. He was kindhearted and clever, he was funny and brave and creative, and he was talented beyond all measure.
“Ryan, we will love and miss you for the rest of our days, and we will never fill the hole that you leave in all of our lives.”
Polaris’ summer season tour in Europe has been cancelled to assist the tight-knit band take care of their devastating loss.
The band additionally has their deliberate Fatalism Australian tour which is about to kick off in Perth on September 7 at Metro City.
The rockers haven’t flagged any cancellation plans for this nationwide tour.
Polaris, which shaped in 2012, can also be made up of vocalist Jamie Hails, bassist/clear vocalist Jake Steinhauser and drummer Daniel Furnari.
Polaris’ 2020 album Death Of Me was hailed as “superb” by British music web site Kerrang, and their music is on heavy rotation on Australia’s youth radio station Triple J.
