Prince Harry says he noticed a “red mist” in Prince William earlier than his brother supposedly attacked him throughout a row over Meghan Markle.
The Duke of Sussex claims in an excerpt from his new ebook, Spare, that the Prince of Wales “knocked him to the ground” throughout a livid row over Meghan, who William is claimed to have described as “rude” and “difficult”.
Harry informed the British broadcaster ITV in a newly-released clip from an upcoming interview that his brother “wanted me to hit him back, but I chose not to”.
“What was different here was the level of frustration, and I talk about the red mist that I had for so many years, and I saw this red mist in him,” Harry informed journalist Tom Bradby.
“He wanted me to hit him back, but I chose not to.”
In the earlier snippet from Spare, Harry claims William, 40, was already “piping hot” when he arrived at his Kensington Palace dwelling Nottingham Cottage to have a dialog about Meghan, who he branded “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive”.
When issues obtained heated between the pair, William reportedly informed his youthful brother he was merely making an attempt to assist, to which Harry replied: “Are you serious? Help me? Sorry – is that what you call this? Helping me?”
Harry describes how this remark additional angered William, earlier than Harry fled to the kitchen out of concern. His brother adopted him, the place Harry gave him a glass of water.
“Willy, I can’t speak to you when you’re like this,” Harry claims he informed his brother.
He continued in writing: “He set down the water, called me another name, then came at me. It all happened so fast. So very fast. He grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor. I landed on the dog’s bowl, which cracked under my back, the pieces cutting into me. I lay there for a moment, dazed, then got to my feet and told him to get out.”
Further, Harry writes that William inspired him to hit again.
Despite the livid argument, Harry mentioned William quickly left the cottage “looking regretful, and apologised”.
“[He] turned and called back: ‘You don’t need to tell Meg about this’,” Harry writes.
“‘You mean that you attacked me?’,” he requested his brother, to which William mentioned, “‘I didn’t attack you, Harold.’”
Also within the new ITV clip, Harry says he nonetheless needs to rebuild his relationships with William and his father Charles.
“I want reconciliation. But, first, there needs to be some accountability,” he says.
“The truth, supposedly, at the moment, has been there’s only one side of the story, right?
“But, there’s two sides to every story.”
Harry is requested about his admission that he took medicine in his youthful years.
“There’s a fair amount of drugs. Marijuana, magic mushrooms, cocaine. I mean, that’s going to surprise people,” Bradby says.
Harry replies that it’s “important to acknowledge” his previous.
