A protracted-serving govt at Foxtel and media trade chief Brian Walsh has died.
He died in Sydney on Thursday.
Foxtel issued a press release crediting Mr Walsh with the worldwide success of “Neighbours” and launching the careers of Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman and Kylie Minogue.
“It is always very sad and in some ways shocking,” Foxtel Group chief govt Patrick Delany stated on 2GB radio on Friday morning.
“He was a very close friend of mine, a mentor and a legend.”
The Foxtel Group expressed its “profound sadness at the sudden loss” and remembered him as “an iconic figure throughout Foxtel’s 28-year history”.
