Jude Law’s revolting confession: ‘Blood, faecal matter and sweat’

Jude Law might have dedicated a bit an excessive amount of to his function as Henry VIII within the upcoming movie, Firebrand.

Speaking on the 2023 Cannes Film Festival, Law revealed he had a fragrance specifically made for the function that smelled of “blood, faecal matter and sweat” to resemble the scent of the monarch’s rotting leg in his ultimate days.

“I read several interesting accounts that you could smell Henry three rooms away. His leg was rotting so badly. He hid it with rose oil,” he stated, per Variety.

“I thought it would have a great impact if I smelt awful.”

Law, 50, went on to clarify that he discovered a perfumer to make the personalized scent.

“She makes wonderful scents, and she also makes awful scents. She somehow came up with this extraordinary variety of blood, faecal matter and sweat,” he stated.

Though he started utilizing it very “subtly,” he stated it quickly “became a spray-fest”.

Even Firebrand director Karim Aïnouz shook his head as he recalled, “When Jude walked in on set, it was just horrible.”

Despite the stench, Law stated he and his co-star Alicia Vikander, who performs Henry VIII’s sixth and ultimate spouse Catherine Parr, had a beautiful time on the set of the historic drama.

“It sounds really twisted because of course we did awful things to each other,” he stated. “But my memory is that we were laughing a lot.”

Firebrand loved its world premiere at Cannes this weekend, the place it has been chosen to compete for the Palme d’Or.
