Is the highly-anticipated Barbie film Oscar worthy?

The verdict is on Barbie — and a few critics insist it’s Oscar worthy.

Reviewers say Ryan Gosling, who performs Ken Doll, ought to land the most effective music Oscar for his supply of I’m Just Ken in Greta Gerwig’s field officer buster.

Variety journal’s social media editor Katcy Stephan posted after a screening: “Greta Gerwig delivers a nuanced commentary on what it means to be a woman in a whimsical, wonderful and laugh-out-loud funny romp. The entire cast shines, especially Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.”

Jamie Jirak of ComicBook.com stated Gosling shines as Ken and will land a gold statue.

She posted: “Greta Gerwig somehow exceeded my expectations … Give Ryan Gosling an Oscar nomination, I’m dead serious!”

Collider author Perri Nemiroff wasn’t so satisfied of the makes an attempt to place substance into Barbie’s story.

She posted: “I think the film serves Margot Robbie’s Barbie and her journey especially well, but there are other characters experiencing important arcs that needed more screen time to really dig into and explore to the fullest.”

Screen Rant’s Joe Deckelmeier stated he had low expectations however stated Gerwig smashed it out the park.

“’Barbie’ caught me off guard & I mean that in the best way possible. It’s funny, bombastic, & very smart. Greta Gerwig aims for the fences & hits a home-run. Margot Robbie’s performance is great & Ryan Gosling & Simu Liu are pure entertainment! The whole cast is brilliant!,” Joe posted.

The rave evaluations, will come as an enormous reduction to Robbie, who was braced for folks to hate her portrayal of the well-known toy doll.

“We, of course, would want to honor the 60-year legacy that this brand has, but we have to acknowledge that there are a lot of people who aren’t fans of Barbie,” the 33-year-old Aussie sweetheart stated earlier than the verdicts rolled in.

“And in fact, aren’t just indifferent to Barbie. They actively hate Barbie. And have a real issue with Barbie. We need to find a way to acknowledge that.”

Fans stated producer Mark Ronson’s earlier reward for Gosling singing his monitor I’m Just Ken wasn’t overhyped, with one tweeting “Grammy incoming”.

Ronson had stated of Goslings singing: “He was just nailing it because he’s such an amazing actor. I hadn’t also figured that, of course, he would sell this song better than anyone because he is Ken.”

La La Land singer Gosling thanked his co-star and director for bringing out his internal Ken doll.

“I only knew Ken from afar. I didn’t know Ken from within, and if I’m being really honest I doubted my Ken-ergy,” he stated. “I didn’t see it, but Margot and Greta, they conjured this out of me somehow.”
