There are elements of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 that star Pom Klementieff discovered “devastating” and “heartbreaking”.

But that didn’t cease her from watching it twice. “I actually want to watch it again, and usually that’s not the case with movies I’m in, but this one is really special,” she informed news.com.au. “It’s a very emotional movie, there’s a darker tone to this one for sure.

“The characters have been through a lot of trauma, and you get to really learn Rocket’s backstory and where he comes from. It’s incredible, and it’s devastating and heartbreaking.”

The Canadian-born French actor has been enjoying the empath Mantis because the second Guardians film, and whereas she wasn’t a part of the unique crew, her memorable performances in that, plus two Avengers movies, a Thor one and a Guardians Christmas particular has made her really feel as if she was.

That tight bond with the forged off-screen and between the characters onscreen has cemented why Guardians stay so many followers’ favorite nook of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

When Klementieff joined the MCU in 2015, she was inserting herself into an already established ensemble. She admitted she was somewhat anxious however stated everybody was so welcoming. Flash ahead eight years and he or she looks like she’s in mourning for one thing.

Guardians 3 is the final hurrah for the present iteration of the superheroes. Director and author James Gunn, whose “specific and beautiful vision, as Klementieff put it, has fuelled every aspect of Guardians’ creative and commercial success, has already left the building.

Gunn has taken up residence across the road at the rival DC Studios, where he will be shepherding an-often lost superheroes screen slate. So, whatever version of Guardians come next, if there is a next, it won’t be what fans have been following since 2014.

Klementieff said she’s been so busy the full emotional force of the moment hasn’t hit her yet – but knows that when it does, it’s going to be a thing.

“It’s like mourning, you know?” she defined. “Sometimes it grabs you and the sadness hits you at unexpected moments. It’s like a funeral. Sometimes people don’t cry at the funeral, they cry before or after, or two days later.

“It’s like that, it just goes back and forth, it flows, you know?”

But Klementieff stated the gang are such good associates she is aware of that they’ll see one another once more. “And we’re going to work together again, we’re going to find ways to keep going,” she promised.

“And there was a scene towards the end of the movie that was very emotional for us because it felt like maybe it would be the last time that we play the characters together and the emotions were real.

“You can see it and you can feel it when you watch that scene.”

In some methods, it’s a bond that was solid in fireplace. In 2018, as manufacturing was gearing up for Guardians 3, Gunn was fired by Disney for tasteless previous tweets that had been resurfaced by right-wing forces desirous to take the director down for his Donald Trump criticisms.
