Courtney Act is arguably Australia’s favorite drag queen.
This Tuesday, the Australian Idol and RuPaul’s Drag Race star joins Andy Lee on a particular episode of The Hundred, marking a particular Pride version in honor of the 2024 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

As the glittering lights of Saturday’s Mardi Gras parade looms forward, Act chats to 9Entertainment about illuminating The Hundred set, including a splash of aptitude and a sprinkle of camp to the episode.
“You’ve got three of Australia’s most iconic blondes coming together to celebrate Mardi Gras on The Hundred,” Act humorously remarked.
“Sophie [Monk] and I are often confused for each other. Joel [Creasey] and I are often thought to be the same person out of drag. So I feel like this will finally lay to rest a lot of confusion in the minds of the Australian public that we are in fact three different people.”
“Or they might just think it’s some sort of like weird AI trick technology,” she laughs.

Act was thrilled to work with host Andy Lee, “We just had such a fun time being idiots and answering questions and having fun with Andy [Lee] and The Hundred.“
Spilling the secrets and techniques from tonight’s episode, Act shared her shock at studying that Bounty was the nation’s least favourite chocolate.
“I was really shocked to learn that the Bounty is Australia’s least favorite chocolate,” Act exclaimed.
“My favorite is a Turkish delight and nobody agrees with that. Maybe this is a larger metaphor for the theme of the show. If it’s something that you like and nobody else does.”
However, amidst the laughter and lighthearted banter, Act emphasised the profound significance of Mardi Gras as greater than only a festive event.
“Mardi Gras just so much fun and such a fun time of year, such a like kind of celebration,” Act mirrored.

“But then also, you know, Mardi Gras is really more than just a party with purpose and it’s about increasing visibility and just utilizing the idea that however you express your love or how you express, you know, the clothes that you wear or the gender that you are.”
On Saturday, Sydney will host it is annual Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade, with Act gearing as much as anchor the tv festivities alongside Mon Schafter for ABCQueer.
“I’ve been upgraded from like girl on the street to anchor. So this year I’m like, behind the desk, I’m anchoring the whole 3.5 hours with Mon Schafter and 3.5 hours of live TV is kind of scary.”
