A horrified couple have discovered a severed horse’s head dumped on their doorstep in scenes straight out of The Godfather.
The couple from Murray Bridge, about an hour’s drive from Adelaide, known as the police after making the grotesque discovery on Sunday night time.
Disturbing pictures present the blood-spattered entrance to a house on Carsten Drive, only a few hundred metres from the Murray River.
“Murray Bridge police are investigating after an animal head was found at a Murray Bridge address last night, Sunday 27 August,” an announcement from police learn.
“Police have yet to locate the outstanding remains of the animal. Investigations are continuing.”
The crime is eerily much like an notorious scene from the 1972 film starring Marlon Brando.
The incident provoked some shocked reactions on social media.
