Alicia Silverstone bared all of it and posed nude in solely fake leather-based boots for PETA’s new marketing campaign, in an effort to advertise extra sustainable, vegan variations of the fabric.
“If it takes me getting naked for you to care about animals then that is what I’m after,” the Clueless star, 46, mentioned in a marketing campaign video.
“I never, ever, get naked in TV, in film, nothing, never, nope — but I’ve done it for PETA because that’s how much it matters to me,” the actress defined.
“I’d rather go naked than wear animals,” Silverstone declared.
“There’s this idea that leather is somehow better for the earth but what they don’t realise is the amount of resources – water, food, oil for transport – the amount of energy that goes into making leather is extraordinary. It’s just not sustainable. The Earth can’t handle it,” she refuted.
The former teen idol additionally posed with a cactus to encourage folks to purchase several types of vegan leather-based.
“DON’T BE A PRICK,” the PETA image proclaims. “Wear Vegan. Buy cactus, mushroom or apple leather instead!”
This isn’t the primary time the Clueless star has stripped down for a trigger she loves. In 2019, she took all of it off for PETA to encourage of us to ditch wool, with a Times Square billboard to get the message throughout — and her new marketing campaign may have its personal billboard simply in time for the New Year’s Eve ball drop.
Silverstone has been a vegan since 1999 when she was 21 and has continued to extol the meat-free way of life.
In 2018, the plant-based cookbook creator credited her household’s vegan weight loss program with holding her 11-year-old son, Bear Blu, whom she shares together with her ex-husband Christopher Jarecki, wholesome.
“He’s never had to take medicine in his life,” she informed Page Six on the time. “He can get sniffles and a runny nose but he’s not down, he still goes to school. Two times in his life has he been like ‘Mummy I don’t feel good,’ and it was only for a few hours and he was back running around.”
Other celebs who’ve confirmed off their pores and skin for PETA embody Bethenny Frankel, Pamela Anderson, Joanna Krupa, Pink, Khloé Kardashian and extra.
