Charges dropped in Guy’s neighbour fight

Police have dropped the fees towards Guy Sebastian’s neighbour in a sensational remaining chapter for the bitter combat over a shared fence.

Phillip Richard Hanslow had been charged with escalating a long-running feud between the neighbours by allegedly intimidating Mr Sebastian outdoors their Maroubra houses on January 23.

Police had been referred to as to the waterfront suburb about 1.30pm after the 66-year-old allegedly threatened to kill his well-known neighbour.

On Wednesday, Mr Hanslow’s lawyer Bryan Wrench advised Waverley Court that the fees had been withdrawn.

“The charges will now be withdrawn and dismissed,” he declared.

“As I’m sure your honour can appreciate, the whole affair has been pretty stressful for Mr Hanslow.”

Mr Hanslow advised reporters he was on the bathroom when police barged into his house and charged him with stalking with intent to trigger bodily hurt and damaging property.

Police requested an interim apprehended violence order to guard Guy Sebastian, which prohibits his neighbour from contacting the pop star or getting into his property.

The court docket heard that the AVO might be continued for 4 extra months as a remaining order by consent.

It will expire in August with out admissions to the offences.

The alleged dying threats had been believed to be the fiery finale to 6 years of tensions between the neighbours, which had been sparked when Mr Sebastian and his spouse Jules had been constructing their house.

The couple purchased their $3.1m house in Maroubra in 2013 and spent practically three years overhauling it to create their “fortress-like” home.

Mr Hanslow claimed that the in depth constructing works created “a massive amount of friction” within the neighbourhood.

He mentioned their combat had arisen from $2 price of harm to his shared fence with Mr Sebastian, which has since been mended.
