Carrie Bickmore’s touching tribute to mum

Carrie Bickmore has known as her mum a “shining star” in a candy tribute to mark her retirement.

In an Instagram put up the previous Project host shared two snaps of her along with her mum Jennie Bickmore-Brand, who has now retired after working as a lecturer at Perth’s Curtin University. Dr Bickmore-Brand spent her profession in schooling, getting her PhD in 1997.

In the images, the pair cuddled up to one another, smiling into the digicam.

“My amazing mama has just retired (I think she’ll back) after 50 years contribution to education,” Bickmore, 42, wrote within the put up.

“Mum you are a trailblazer, an inspiration, a shining star. You did it all while raising kids, living and loving hard and all with a soft touch and huge smile. Enjoy the next chapter … whatever it may hold.”

It comes after rumours swirled that Bickmore and radio co-host Tommy Little, 38, had been rising nearer within the wake of her cut up from Chris Walker.

It was reported that Walker was feeling “hurt” by the “radio silence” he had acquired from Little amid their break-up

Bickmore and Walker, who’s an govt producer for ABC’s The Weekly With Charlie Pickering, introduced their separation in January after 10 years collectively.

According to the Herald Sun, Walker has been “struggling to come to terms with no longer seeing his children every day” amid the separation.

Walker and Bickmore met on the set of The Project in 2012, two years after her first husband, Greg Lange, died of mind most cancers.

He grew to become a stepfather to Bickmore and Lange’s son, Ollie, and in 2015, the couple welcomed their first little one collectively – a daughter Evie. Three years later, they grew to become dad and mom as soon as extra with the arrival of one other woman, Adelaide, in late 2018.

In January, Walker and Bickmore took to Instagram to announce their shock cut up.

“Hi there. It’s with immense sadness that (Carrie/Chris) and I have decided to separate,” the pair wrote.

“While this is a tough time, our focus is to concentrate on parenting, loving and supporting our three amazing children, Ollie, Evie and Addie with everything we’ve got. They are doing great.”
