Australian mannequin Nadia Bartel has spoken out for the primary time since a video of her snorting white powder at an unlawful occasion throughout Melbourne’s COVID-19 lockdown went viral final 12 months.
Bartel revealed that her decisions “disappointed people whose opinion means the world to me”.
“I made a big mistake. And I accept that. I feel there’s a real, ongoing pursuit for it — still. And that’s what feels very hurtful,” she informed Stellar journal.
In the video, which circulated social media in September final 12 months, the previous WAG was filmed by business accomplice Ellie Pearson snorting white powder off a plate at a celebration which broke Covid-19 lockdown guidelines on the time.
Pearson by accident uploaded the footage on her Instagram web page, and Bartel apologised to her 533,000 followers the subsequent day.
Bartel mentioned she wished her actions to “speak louder than any words”.
“The social media reaction was very negative towards me and hurt a lot. What hurt more was the feeling that I’d let people down who I love and whose opinion means the world to me,” she mentioned.
Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the 37-year-old mentioned the interview had given her a “sense of peace and an opportunity to move on now”.
“I own my mistakes and will continue to focus on what’s real around me, and in time, my actions will speak louder than any words.”
The influencer is a mom of two and the ex-wife of retired AFL star Jimmy Bartel, a Brownlow Medallist who spent his profession with the Geelong Cats.
The couple break up in 2019 after 5 years of marriage.
Bartel can also be behind the clothes label Henne which she developed alongside her sister and Pearson.
