A 3-metre tiger shark has swum alarmingly near swimmers at a well-liked Perth seaside as college holidays entice a whole bunch of households to the coast.
Filmed by beach-goer Sarah Hutchinson at Whitfords seaside in Hillary’ — witnessed by her two babies aged 11 and eight — the creature appeared to dart by means of the waves 4 metres from shore.
Alerted by lifeguards round 10.15am as her kids swam within the knee-deep water, Sarah mentioned the beast “was so close, it was unbelievable”.
The shark sighting prompted the closure of close by Mullaloo seaside 10.10am, with the seaside in the end reopening at 11.17am.

Last Saturday, each Brighton and Scarborough seaside closed after swimmers had been ordered out of the water as a shark was noticed 150m from the coast.
