‘Tragic’: Worker dies after Woolies incident

A employee has died after being crushed by falling pallets at a Woolworths facility.

Emergency companies rushed to the business on Sargents Road in Minchinbury after the office accident was initially reported.

Three males had been injured after quite a few pallets collapsed, with paramedics taking the group to Westmead Hospital.

A 37-year-old man who was in a important situation when he was transported handed away in hospital on Wednesday.

The two different males had been taken to hospital in a severe however steady situation.

SafeWork NSW have been notified and police will put together a report for the Coroner.

Primary Connect, Woolworths’ provide chain arm, stated it was “deeply saddened by the tragic incident”.

“Our thoughts and condolences are with our team member’s friends and family at this difficult time and we are currently supporting the family and our two team members who were also injured in the incident,” a spokesperson stated.

“We are cooperating with NSW Police and SafeWork NSW to investigate the incident and we will also be undertaking our own investigation.”

The distribution centre is at the moment closed “out of respect” for the employees and their households.

“There may be an impact on supply to some products in some Sydney stores in the next day or two and we thank our customers for their understanding at this time.”
