New trade office aims to open doors for SA in Germany

South Australia hopes a brand new commerce workplace in Germany will open extra export alternatives with the European superpower.

SA’s commerce workplace in Frankfurt would be the fourth in Germany, with NSW, Victoria and Queensland already having presences within the largest financial system in Europe.

Premier Peter Malinauskas made the announcement in Berlin, throughout a four-day commerce mission.

“Germany is the biggest economy in Europe with a GDP worth more than $4 trillion, so it makes sense for South Australia to have a permanent presence here,” the premier stated.

“With the world re-opening post-COVID, it is vital that South Australia has a strong presence in key economies across the world.”

Germany is South Australia’s eighth largest buying and selling companion, with annual two-way commerce value $622m.

There are 67 German firms with a bodily presence in SA.

Mr Malinauskas stated Germany was additionally the largest participant in Europe in hydrogen, bringing the sturdy potential for funding in SA’s packages within the sector.

The budgeted annual value of the Frankfurt workplace is $250,000.

It will be a part of different South Australian commerce workplaces within the UK, US, China, India, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia and the United Arab Emirates.
