* The month-to-month CPI indicator rose 6.8 per cent within the 12 months to April, following a 6.3 per cent rise within the 12 months to March

* Food and drinks – up 7.9 per cent

* Alcohol and tobacco – up 4.8 per cent

* Clothing and footwear – up 2.0 per cent

* Housing – up 8.9 per cent

* Health – up 4.7 per cent

* Transport – up 7.1 per cent

* Education – up 5.5 per cent
