“I’m not sure if I’m allowed to bet or not, but I would certainly be betting on Anastacia,’ he said.
“She’s come through against the odds, written off halfway through the race but there at the end because she’s the best choice for Queenslanders.
“I know how resolute she is about continuing to serve Queenslanders.
“She does have the confidence of the Labor Party, of the Labor caucus, of cabinet.
“We want her to stay and run next year. She’s absolutely determined to do that and we all support that.”
Mr Miles beforehand stated he hadn’t spoken to the Premier whereas she’d been on holidays.
